Absentee Ballot Results

As I am sure you are well aware, there have been some issues with
Absentee Ballots at Board of Elections.

This afternoon Austerlitz had its day and presented our ballots  for review.  Of the 93 ballots that have been returned 39 were opened. However of the 39 that were opened,  it gave us  enough votes that we
needed to sweep all of the Town Board Seats, plus the Town Supervisor.  Even with the 52 ballots that will be reviewed by a Judge for further review, we have enough of a lead to claim victory!

Quick Summary

Braley (R) - 368   Jahn (D) - 304
Verenazi (R) - 397   Pinto (R) - 377   Van der Weit (D) - 278
Corglione (D) - 275

Haag (R) - 638
Meehan (D)  - 641

It was a good election, everyone was a qualified candidate, and I am
glad that the Republicans shined through to win!

On other news I hope you will stop by on Monday Night for our
Roundtable event.  You can also stop in to hear the stories of opening Absentee Ballots!

All of our candidates did an excellent Job!  Congratulations to all of them.

Thank you for your vote and support!

Sincerely,

Don't forget to Vote!

Don't forget to vote in this important local election, Tuesday November 3rd, 2009. The Polls are open from 6am to 9pm. and are located at the Spencertown Firehouse!

Although it is important to vote in every election there is a particular reason why your vote is needed on November 3rd, 2009. Proposition 2 needs your YES vote because it allows inmates to work for not-for-profit organizations.

Having inmates from the Hudson Correctional Facility helps the Austerlitz Historical Society prepare for the Blueberry Festival and Autumn in Austerlitz and has had an impact on the success of those annual events. The inmates assist by erecting tents, placing tables and chairs, setting up fencing and signage to delineate parking lots. After the event, the property is restored by having tents, tables and chairs placed in storage. The help of the inmates has been of great value to the society. The inmates have been well supervised, have been respectful and have worked hard and well with the organization representatives.

Allowing inmates to work for not-for- profit organizations is also of great benefit to the inmates themselves as they meet volunteers from these organizations who work beside them. This is a brief step into a normal living situation and can contribute toward a successful re-introduction into society when the term of incarceration is over.

Please help make sure that the valuable support we receive from this program can continue. Vote YES on Proposition 2 on November 3rd.

Meet our Candidates Open House, Sunday November 1, 2009 from 10 to 1pm.  We will be at the Spencertown Town Hall and look forward to seeing you there!  Stop in for some goodies and conversation.

We need your help!

We need your help!  Talk with your friends and neighbors and explain to them why our candidates need to be in office.  Our candidates believe in supporting local businesses and want responsible and fair government.  They believe less government is good government. Austerlitz needs fewer rules & regulations, not more!

Stop by and meet our candidates on Sunday, November 1st at 10AM to 1PM at the Spencertown Town Hall.

To win this election, we need monetary donations, volunteers and most important:  YOUR VOTE!

No matter what your contribution, it will help us to return our Town Board to a Republican majority! A donation of $5, $15, or even $25 helps us pay for printing, signs and mailings.
